Confusion No More For the Spiritual Seeker
Confusion No More: For the Spiritual Seeker By Ramesh S. Balsekar
2007 | 288 Pages | ISBN: 190585725X | PDF | 1 MB
Many spiritual seekers today are confused. They imagine enlightenment as a state of perfect peace entirely detached from worldly things, and feel disappointed or inadequate when they don’t attain that ideal. Ramesh S. Balsekar, a self-realized sage whose teachings have reached thousands, offers a down-to-earth message that corrects this misunderstanding. With eloquence and humor, he shows how spirituality and daily life can exist in harmony. We conquer our confusion when we accept that whatever exists in the moment is precisely as it’s supposed to be, according to the Cosmic Law that is forever beyond the grasp of the human intellect. With jargon-free simplicity, he explains how to find true peace by learning to perceive the oneness of all things.

Out of the Ordinary A Life of Gender and Spiritual Transitions
Out of the Ordinary: A Life of Gender and Spiritual Transitions By Michael Dillon / Lobzang Jivaka et al.
2017 | 256 Pages | ISBN: 082328039X | PDF | 4 MB
Now available for the first time-more than 50 years after it was written-is the memoir of Michael Dillon/Lobzang Jivaka (1915-62), the British doctor and Buddhist monastic novice chiefly known to scholars of sex, gender, and sexuality for his pioneering transition from female to male between 1939 and 1949, and for his groundbreaking 1946 book Self: A Study in Ethics and Endocrinology. Here at last is Dillon/Jivaka’s extraordinary life story told in his own words. Out of the Ordinary captures Dillon/Jivaka’s various journeys-to Oxford, into medicine, across the world by ship-within the major narratives of his gender and religious journeys. Moving chronologically, Dillon/Jivaka begins with his childhood in Folkestone, England, where he was raised by his spinster aunts, and tells of his days at Oxford immersed in theology, classics, and rowing. He recounts his hormonal transition while working as an auto mechanic and fire watcher during World War II and his surgical transition under Sir Harold Gillies while Dillon himself attended medical school. He details his worldwide travel as a ship’s surgeon in the British Merchant Navy with extensive commentary on his interactions with colonial and postcolonial subjects, followed by his "outing" by the British press while he was serving aboard The City of Bath. Out of the Ordinary is not only a salient record of an early sex transition but also a unique account of religious conversion in the mid-twentieth century. Dillon/Jivaka chronicles his gradual shift from Anglican Christianity to the esoteric spiritual systems of George Gurdjieff and Peter Ouspensky to Theravada and finally Mahayana Buddhism. He concludes his memoir with the contested circumstances of his Buddhist monastic ordination in India and Tibet. Ultimately, while Dillon/Jivaka died before becoming a monk, his novice ordination was significant: It made him the first white European man to be ordained in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Out of the Ordinary is a landmark publication that sets free a distinct voice from the history of the transgender movement.Michael Dillon/Lobzang Jivaka (1915-62) was an English physician, the first female-to-male post-operative transsexual, and a Buddhist monastic novice.Jacob Lau is a Carolina Postdoctoral Fellow through the Program for Faculty Diversity in the Women’s and Gender Studies Department at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.Cameron Partridge is an Episcopal priest, theologian, scholar of trans and religious studies, and an openly transgender man. He has taught at Harvard University, Harvard Divinity School and Episcopal Divinity School and is currently the rector of St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church in San Francisco.Susan Stryker is Associate Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Arizona. English | ISBN: 1474292402 | 2017 | 216 pages | EPUB, PDF | 6 MB + 3 MB
Marion Goldman and Steven Pfaff define a spiritual virtuoso as someone who works toward personal purification and a sense of holiness with the same perseverance and intensity that virtuosi strive to excel in the arts or athletics. Since the Protestant Reformation, activist virtuosi have come together in large and small social movements to redefine the meanings of spiritual practice, support religious equality, and transform a wide range of social institutions. Tracing the impact of spiritual virtuosi from the sixteenth century Reformation through the nineteenth-century Anti-Slavery Movement to the twentieth-century Human Potential Movement and beyond, Marion Goldman and Steven Pfaff explore how personal virtuosity can become a social force.

Focusing on 12 influential sex magicians, some well-known and some who have remained in obscurity, West details the life of each sex magician and how the practice of sex magic affected their lives. He explains how most of the figures presented in the book used sex magic as a means rather than an end, utilizing their practice to enhance and enrich their life’s work, whether in the arts, sciences, or as a spiritual leader. He examines what is known about Paschal Beverly Randolph, the founding father of modern sex magic, explores the tragic and mystical life of Ida Craddock, and discusses, in depth, iconic figures like Aleister Crowley and Austin Osman Spare, who saw sex magic as a source of artistic power and is now seen as a prophet of the chaos magick movement.
